Master Mentor Coach Nina East,
IAC-CC
Become an IAC Certified Coach
So you're interested in being certified by the
International Association of Coaching,
but aren't sure if you are ready...
Or maybe you're just hesitant to pay the
certification fee
without having some sense of whether your skills meet the IAC
standards or not...
Or maybe you aren't 100% confident about the 9
Coaching MasteriesTM and
what the certifiers are looking for in your
demonstration...
Rest
assured, you are not alone.
I have found that these are the main reasons coaches are waiting to apply
for certification.
It's understandable, of course, but no longer necessary.
| Having an expert, trained in the
coaching masteries, offer detailed, comprehensive feedback is the fastest way
to improve your skills and your chances of becoming certified.
|
You can assess your
"masteries-ability" prior to officially applying for certification.
It's easy, fairly painless, and guaranteed to give you confidence and
clarity about your coaching skills. Think of it as a pre-certification
quickstart. :)
(If you already know you want to do this, then just jump to the bottom of
the page to sign up and skip all the explanation and credibility whoop-de-do
that comes next.)

We both know how important and empowering certification can be.
- It opens doors to otherwise
inaccessible clients - meaning more potential revenue streams
for you.
- It gives your clients and
prospective clients confidence about what you can do for them -
which means you don't have to spend time convincing them
you are good at what you do (which is never any fun anyway).
- It gives you the confidence and credentials
to charge more for your coaching - ensuring your clients
show up ready to play at a higher level, giving them better, faster results
and moving you closer to your business and lifestyle goals.
- And, honestly, it just feels good to be able
to say you are "certified" and know that your
certification really means something, that it is based on extremely
high standards of excellence.
I also know how scary it can be.
So to help, I'm doing a very short "certification campaign" (for lack
of a better phrase) to help coaches get certified.

As you know, I'm Nina East. What you may not
know is that I have been a certifier
for the IAC since 2003 and, along with a very tiny handful of other
certifiers, have been integrally
involved in refining and establishing the standards for measuring the Masteries.
(In fact, I've just been leading the work on the next version of the Masteries
ebook. Look for it to be released soon.)
And now I'm on a campaign... |
So
what's the Certification Campaign about?
Simply put, this campaign
consists of evaluating and providing feedback on 20 coaching sessions
between now and March 31st.
If you have a recording of a half-hour coaching session -
or if you are willing to record one (or more) by March 31st - I will evaluate
your session and meet with you for a 30-minute
confidential, personalized evaluation session.
When was
the last time you sat down with a master mentor coach
for 30 full minutes of private time focused solely on you and your coaching?
We'll review your coaching Mastery
by Mastery, issue by issue, so you'll know what you are doing
that's working (and why it's working), what's not working (and why), and what
you can do to improve it.
I'll even record our session for you.
While no mentor licensed to teach the
Masteries can give you a "score" on a session or tell you whether a
particular session will pass certification or not (it violates the terms of the
license agreement), I can give you detailed,
precise feedback about your demonstration of the Masteries, as
well as the inside
scoop on what the certifiers are listening for and how they
discuss the certifications. And since your session will be recorded, you don't
have to worry about missing anything. (I know an evaluation session can be a lot
to take in at one time.)
|
If I could offer these 20 sessions for free, I
would. I estimate that I will spend 1.5 - 2 hours per recording for the entire
process, so, obviously, I can't do that.
What I can do, though, is support you
by providing the sessions at a significant discount.
I never charge other coaches the same fees I
get for my corporate work (I've been paid as much as $1500 for a one-hour
"feedback session"! That's not typical for me, but it has happened on
multiple occasions). For coaches, I'd rather
give back a bit, or pay it forward as my mentors did for me.
I had some great mentors - and they always insisted I pay my way. I really
appreciate that now because I know I showed up differently and was a better
"mentee" because I was financially committed.

After much deliberation about this campaign (at
least 3 weeks - just ask Barbra
Sundquist!) I decided to set the "fee"
at $160 per session. I think you'd agree that sounds more than fair for
1.5-2 hours of my time, yes?
But,
if you sign up by Tuesday, February 25th at 9pm eastern, it will only cost $125
per session.
This is not a marketing gimmick.
Seriously.
This is a campaign - I'm on a mission - I want to encourage (and
reward) decisiveness and commitment. I want to give coaches who are committed an
even bigger break - and that means saving $35. If that's you, I look forward to
working with you!
If you're not sure yet, that's fine. If there are sessions available after the
25th, you can still sign up at the discounted $160 rate.
However, my concern is that a handful of coaches will snap up all the sessions -
which isn't what this campaign is about.
For that reason, I ask that you limit yourself to 3 sessions so that other
coaches will have a chance.
- You can have all 3 at the discounted rate,
but you'll still need to get the recordings to me by March 31st.
- And to be fair to everyone else who wants to have a chance, if you don't use
your session(s), you may transfer (or gift) it to someone else, as long as they agree to the
timeline, but there won't be any refunds.
So, if you're ready and want to be in this
small group of 20, just sign
up.
(Sorry - no hoopla. Nothing fancy to this sign up process - or this webpage,
even!)
Part of being a great coach means facing the
things you are afraid of.
If you are fearful about someone else hearing your coaching, now is your chance
to do it in a safe environment.
If you are fearful about the certification process, this is your chance to get
started without any risk.
Of course, certification isn't the only reason
to have a coach mentoring/critique session with me. Yes, it will help prepare
you for certification, but whether you decide to pursue certification or not, I
assure you it will help improve your skills dramatically - which in turn will
help your clients produce better results...which ultimately will help your
coaching business.
Remember, there is a discounted rate, but once
all 20 sessions are gone, they're gone.
And if you want the "truly committed coach" rate of $125 per session,
you'll need to register by Tuesday the 25th at 9pm eastern.
So go sign up, send me your half-hour recordings and let's get you ready for IAC
certification.
OK, that's it. I hope I'll be talking with you
soon!
Nina!
**Oh, and just a quick note: since I'll be
working with you, I will not be one of the certifiers who evaluates your
coaching when you apply for certification. Just wanted to make sure everybody
knew that. :)
***If you do not
have a way to record and/or send me your digital recording, I recommend http://ninaeast.audioacrobat.com.
It is perfect and easy to use for recording phone conversations and for
uploading and downloading audio files. There is a free trial period, but
you’ll want to verify whether it includes the upload/download option or not.
